Hardcore criminal held

BARI BRAHAMANA, Feb 12: Police today claimed to have arrested a hardcore criminal who was named in 17 FIRs.
Kapil Sharma alias Jimmy of Chowadhi, Sainik Colony, Jammu, was booked in case FIR number 11/2024 under sections 420, 323, 342, and 506 of the IPC registered at Police Station Bari Brahamana, for his alleged involvement in violence, illegal confinement, and cheating in fraudulently-run drug de-addiction centre in Birpur, and Bari Brahamana areas.
Post registration of FIR, a party of Police Station Bari Brahamana was immediately dispatched and 15 victims of violence were rescued and reunited with their family members. However, Kapil Sharma, the main accused remained at large.
Acting on specific information, the absconding criminal was arrested today by a team of Police Station Bari Brahamana led by SHO Sumeet Sharma, comprising PSI Nirmal Singh, and Selection grade Constable Tavinder Singh.
According to police, the accused was wanted in 17 FIRs in Jammu and Samba Districts for his involvement in heinous offences such as attempt to murder, peddling narcotics, carrying weapons illegally and snatching etc.
Police have started further investigation into the matter.
