JAMMU, Feb 13: A murder-accused ended his life by hanging himself within Amphalla jail here today.
According to police, Jagdev Singh alias Michael son of Kura Ram of Morchapur, Bishnah, who brutally murdered his mother and 3-month-old daughter with a sharp-edged weapon in October 2023, was found hanging with his trousers inside Amphalla Jail around 3 pm today.
Soon after getting information, a team of Police Station Pacca Danga reached at the spot and shifted him to Government Medical College Jammu, where he was declared as dead on arrival.
While the post-mortem of the deceased has been conducted by the board of doctors a judicial enquiry has also been ordered into the incident.
