JKAACL pays ‘Musical Tribute’ to Dogri poet Yash Sharma

JAMMU, Feb 14: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) here today organised a function to pay ‘A Musical Tribute’ to the renowned Dogri poet, Yash Sharma, Sahitya Akademi Awardee on his 95th birth anniversary.
The audience included well known writers, teachers, artists, professionals, music lovers of the city and others.

On this occasion Seema Anil Sehgal, daughter of poet Yash Sharma left the audience spell bound by her melodious voice.
Young and talented singers of Jammu who sang the songs written by Yash Sharma were Mukteshi Sharma, Sameeksha, Mohit, Shriya, Simran Gurtoo and Poonam Sharma.
“The Academy has always worked hard to bring forth the talent of Dogra singers,” Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary JKAACL said adding: “It is honour for the Academy to pay musical tribute to the poet popular as ‘Dogri Geetein Da Rajkumar’ through the music composed and sung by his own daughter.”
