JAMMU, Feb 15: Sri Narayana Theerth Mahaswamy, Shankaracharya of Sri Kalika Peetam Samsthanam, Tamil Nadu, termed the Yagnopavit most sacred Sanskar’ in Sanatan Dharma.
Shankaracharya Ji was speaking at a religious gathering at Swami Mirzakak Ashram Nagrota where the Samohik Yagnopavit ceremony of 18 Hindu boys and girls was performed by Global Solace Society.
Shankaracharya Ji who personally blessed the children tutored the gathering about the importance of Yagnopavit Sanskar in Sanatan Dharma and said that he has taken up the issue of renovation of all Hindu shrines and temples in Kashmir.
Pintoo Ji Pandita, president of Global Solace Society, Samohik Yagynopavit has evolved into a platform of convergence for the scattered community as it brings together thousands of people from diverse backgrounds and localities besides providing community organizations, groups, individuals and social activists a reason to come together to support the Sanskar for those who due to one reason or the other could not perform it.
He said this year’s ceremony was supported by Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj Kashmiri Hindu Foundation (USA), Sodhani Foundation, Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Welfare Society, VHP, Shri Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra Welfare Society, KP social activists, several individual donors and personalities across the Socio- religious spectrum.
