Srinagar, Feb 15: In a tragic incident, a tipper driver lost his life when the vehicle he was driving plunged into the Dal lake near Makaye park in Srinagar.
According to a police official, they received reports that a tipper bearing registration number JKO6-2692 had fallen into the Dal lake near Makaye park. “A team was dispatched to the spot. The body of the driver has been recovered and taken into possession for further Medico-legal formalities,” he said.
The deceased driver has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Khatana, son of Muhammad Hussain from Kangan area of Ganderbal district.
The tipper was later retrieved from the lake.
