FIL hosts Kissan Mela in Shopian

Srinagar, Feb 15: The FIL Industries Private Limited hosted the first Kisan Mela at the Aglar Fruit Mandi in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, bringing together over 700 farmers for a day of knowledge exchange, product presentations, and community welfare initiatives.
The spokesperson of FIL Industries said that the event commenced with the arrival of farmers, followed by informative product videos and insights from Ramnik Sharma, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing at FIL Industries.
“On the occasion, Syed Junaid Altaf, Executive Director of FIL Industries, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting farmers through its agro-chemical, biological, and nutritional products for holistic welfare. Altaf envisioned Jammu and Kashmir as India’s leading apple-growing region, emphasising the mutually beneficial relationship between farmers and the company,” he said.
He added that the director introduced FIL’s new services, including apple insurance, the apple cluster project, and processing facilities in Controlled Atmosphere (CA) stores, aimed at empowering the farming community. He underscored FIL’s status as India’s largest Apple integrator and its deep-rooted commitment to the region’s prosperity.
The spokesperson said that the event also featured the unveiling of four innovative products, accompanied by informative presentations, and highlighted FIL’s joint venture, FILAVAL, and its Apple Cluster project.
“A significant announcement was the introduction of India’s first parametric apple crop insurance programme, appleINSURE, aimed at protecting farmers from unforeseen weather conditions. Heartfelt testimonials from farmers shared on stage served as a powerful testament to FIL Industries’ transformative impact,” he said.
