JAMMU, Feb 16: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two institutions.
Recognizing their strengths in research and academics across various disciplines including science, engineering, management, and social sciences, both NIT Delhi and SMVDU have agreed to establish a comprehensive program for academic cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The key highlights of the MoU include the exchange of information related to research activities, collaboration on joint research projects and consultancy services, joint supervision of postgraduate and PhD students, sharing of infrastructure facilities, expert lectures by faculty members, joint conferences, workshops, seminars and short-term courses.
Dr Vikram Singh, Assistant Professor (SoECE) and Dr Vineet Tyagi, Dean, R&D, SMVDU, along with Prof Manoj Kumar (ECE) of NIT Delhi, will coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the MoU. Both institutions have committed to periodic reviews to strengthen the cooperation further.
The MoU will be valid for 3 years from the date of signing, with provisions for extension upon mutual agreement.
