JAMMU, Feb 16: Chief Spokesperson of BJP Mahila Morcha J&K UT, Ritika Trehan, spearheaded the ‘Gaon Chalo Campaign’ at Ismailpur Kothey in Bishnah constituency today.
Addressing a gathering of rural women, Trehan underscored the pivotal role of women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) towards rural progress.
Emphasizing BJP’s accomplishments, she highlighted schemes such as Ujjawala Yojana, Vishwakarma Scheme, Har Ghar Nal Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and the vaccination drive.
Trehan delineated the campaign’s objective of disseminating BJP’s initiatives directly to the villages.
She lauded Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for fostering rural growth, lifting millions out of poverty, and envisaged India’s ascent as the third-largest economy in his third term.
Attributing the surge in vote share to Modi’s popularity and the success of flagship schemes like PM Awas Yojna and Har Ghar Nal, Trehan shared strategies to engage NGOs and SHGs, aiming to connect with over 10 crore women.
She stressed the significance of financial empowerment, deeming it a bulwark against societal ills, and asserted that women possess inherent enterprising spirit, necessitating only opportunities.
In a gesture towards economic self-reliance, Trehan offered free makeup training to fifty rural women at her Looks Saloon in Hotel Ritz Manor, Channi Himmat.
This initiative not only promotes skill development but also underscores the commitment to fostering self-reliance among rural women, aligning with the overarching goal of rural empowerment and development.
