Shiv Sena rues poor sports facilities in J&K

JAMMU, Feb 16: J&K unit of Shiv Sena (UBT) has resolved to raise voice for the betterment of sports and sportspersons in J&K and termed the current sports policy as mere eyewash.
In a press conference here today, J&K Shiv Sena chief, Manish Sahni said there is nothing in the name of facilities including trainers for sportspersons in J&K.
“The main Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu and Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar are facing severe shortage of sports facilities as well as trainers,” he claimed.
The Shiv Sena leader further said that medal winners in sports at national and international level are being neglected in government jobs.
“Sports Cell has been formed by Shiv Sena with the resolve to improve sports activities and become the voice of players,” he maintained adding: “PM Modi is going to address a rally at MA Stadium in Jammu on February 20 and it is expected that the PM will take care of sports and distribute appointment letters.”
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli; Balwant Singh and others were also present in the press conference.
