Cardamom futures gain 0.89 pc on rising demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 14:Cardamom prices rose 0.89 per cent to Rs 700 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions on a firm trend at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February rose Rs 6.20, or 0.89 per cent, to Rs 700 per kg in a business turnover of just one lot.
Likewise, spice for delivery in March edged higher by Rs 2, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 801 per kg in 231 lots.
Market analysts said rising demand in the spot markets and a firming trend at producing belts led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
