JAMMU, Feb 17: Govt today said that there are States/UTs, who pay less to their AWWs and AWHs than the UT of J&K.
Pointing towards a News published in this paper under caption “Proposal pending before the Finance Department: MD ICDS”, it has been clarified that the Department of Mission Poshan (erstwhile ICDS) releases honorarium to AWWs/AWHs as and when the funds are received under both Center and State share. Additional State share is given to the AWWs/AWHs under Honorarium component.
The statement rebutted the contents of the News that “it is the duty of Finance Department to take decision regarding enhancement of honorarium”.
