JAMMU, Feb 18: Facilitating the newly appointed office bearers of Chhamb and Akhnoor Constituency including block presidents in mammoth gathering in border town Khour today, former Deputy Chief Minister and chairman Campaign Committee of J&K Congress, Tara Chand expected Prime Minister to announce his commitment on the floor of the House with regard to restoration of statehood to the Jammu and Kashmir.
While speaking to party delegates at Khour today, Tara Chand stressed upon the party line to strengthen Congress at grass roots level and ready to face any challenge. He said every Congressman will fight as the spirit we are feeling in party leaders like Rahul Gandhi who is nowadays on Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
Criticizing present Central Government led by BJP to initiate schemes like Agniveer for unemployed youths, Tara Chand named this as mockery against youth of rural and border belt who always remain anxious to serve the country by volunteering themselves for Army and other Paramilitary forces. Employment during last four years is nothing but a lollipop for youth of the country. He said Rahul Gandhi has promised to reverse this scheme if INDIA block comes to power.
Former Dy CM said that Congress will fight every election against BJP Government on local issues as Jammu and Kashmir was degraded to Union Territory and our special status was also snatched from us.
While garlanding newly appointed office bearers, Tara Chand said in this area our local leaders remained our strength as in odd days also Congress got best share and representation too.
