Training programme on Social Media Investigation begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Feb 19: Four- days training programme on Social Media Investigation and Data Analytic commenced at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, here today.
Seventeen officers of J&K Police from the rank of Sub-Inspector to DySP are participating in the training program that will cover a wide range of topics including ‘Introduction to social Medial Investigation’, ‘Fundamentals of Social Media platforms, how to navigate them and the different types of data available for Investigation, ‘Advance data analytics techniques such as sentiments analysis, network analysis and geospatial analysis, ‘Ethical consideration and privacy’.
The training program will be led by the different faculty from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra, Nayeem Abass Hamdani, Cyber Forensic Consultant and Risheek Kumar Sharma, founder of Hackers Pathshala, Cyber Security Company.
In the inaugural function today, SSP Dr Ramnish Gupta, Dy Director (Admn) SKPA, was the chief guest. In his inaugural address he emphasised that even as the Social media has become a crucial source of information for investigators, the sheer volume of data can be overwhelming without the right skills and techniques. “Our training programme aims to bridge this gap by providing participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively analyse social media data,” he added.
On the occasion, Dy SP Ashish Gupta, Asstt. Director (R&D) and faculty member of SKPA, were also present.
The course is being coordinated by Inspr Vishal Manhas and assisted by Sgct Tejinder Chopra, member faculty of SKPA.
