JAMMU, Feb 14: Veteran Congress leader and former legislator Sardar Parduman Singh Azad passed away today after prolonged illness. He was 77.
He had won 1977 Assembly election from Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment. He remained MLC from 2002 to 2008. He had also served as AICC (I) Secretary under then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Parduman Singh is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
PCC (I) president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has condoled the demise of Parduman Singh and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
Cremation of Singh would take place at Jogi Gate at 1 pm on February 15.
