LEH, Feb 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various projects created at Centrally funded higher educational institutions, under the Ministry of Education including Sindhu Central University in Ladakh.
The event was organized at the University of Ladakh, Taru Campus, Leh, and Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh Brig. (Dr) B. D. Mishra was the chief guest. He attended the program along with Chief Executive Councilor, Kargil Dr. Mohd Jaffar Akhon; and MP, Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, and students from the University of Ladakh, Campus Kargil virtually through video conferencing from Delhi.
The event was physically attended by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh Prof S. K. Mehta; Commissioner/ Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT Ladakh Padma Angmo; Councilors of Lamayuru, Markha, Khaltsiand Rong Constituencies; Chief Engineer of CPWD; Controller of Examinations of the University of Ladakh; faculty, staff, and students of Ladakh University.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the LG Ladakh emphasized on the pivotal role played by the teaching faculty in uplifting the students of the region towards greater heights. “Our teaching faculty stands as the cornerstone of our educational ecosystem, fostering knowledge, critical thinking, and values among our students,” he said.
