Freight rates up on tight position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Feb 15: Freight rates for 10-tonne load for select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following tight availability of trucks against increased cargo movements.
Transporters said busy cargo movements and less position of trucks into the markets mainly pushed up freight rates.
Delhi to Kanpur, Gwalior and Goa rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000, Rs 14,000 and Rs 55,000.
Rates to Jaipur, Ludhiana and Chandigarh improved by Rs 500 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 21,000.
