JAMMU, Feb 21: Police in Pounichak area here today claimed they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 8 grams of heroin from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Post Pounichak led by Incharge Police Post PSI Vijay Choudhary, under the guidance of SHO Domana Inspector Susheel Choudhary, and supervision of SDPO Domana Muddassar Hussain, while on naka duty at Pata Chungi, Bohri Chowk, rounded up a suspect who was coming from Pounichak side.
On search of the suspect, he said, 8 grams of heroin was recovered.
Accordingly, the accused identified as Zahid Mohammad of Gandu Chak, Phallain Mandal, Jammu, was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the law.
Police have started further investigation into the matter.
