R.S PURA, Feb 21: Congress leader and DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony has said that PM Modi on visit to Jammu remained silent on pressing issues affecting the people of J&K.
Speaking at a joining function here today, Tony said that PM remained silent on restoration of Statehood and holding of Assembly elections in J&K.
“PM’s silence on promises made to J&K youth regarding 2 crore jobs per year has only deepened miseries,” he maintained adding: “PM made no reference to protection of jobs and lands for locals in J&K.”
The Congress leader claimed that the government employees were forced to join PM’s rally organized by J&K LG underscoring the lack of genuine support for BJP.
He also claimed that the rally was not a genuine display of support for BJP but a forced assembly orchestrated by the LG.
In a major political development, several members from BJP and other political parties in Suchetgarh joined Congress under the leadership of Tony and were welcomed into the party by Tony.
