CUJ book club organizes session with bureaucrat turned writers

JAMMU, Feb 22: Central University Jammu book club `Pageturners’ , today celebrated its inaugural session with esteemed authors Shailendra Singh (SSP) and Pramod Jain, IAS (Retd.).
Pramod Jain presented “Lockdown and Other Poems”, a collection of poems he has written while Shailendra Singh offered a poetic reflection on the human experience of poverty, suffering, deprivation and discrimination during challenging times, through readings from his novel.
Imraan Reyaz, a student of 2nd semester, MA English at CUJ, also read selections from his book of poetry, `Quilt of Emotions’.
The event was also attended by Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof Ritu Bakshi, Dean School of Languages, Prof Vandana Sharma, Associate Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr Vinay Kumar, Shafla Parihar, Deputy Registrar, Astt Librarian, Romesh Chander and Convener, Book Club, Dr Neena Gupta Vij.
The event, attended by avid readers, members of the book club and local dignitaries, featured engaging discussions and book readings.
Pageturners Book Club, Central University Jammu brings together book enthusiasts, promoting local and national authors. The club hosts engaging sessions and events to create a dynamic space for the literary community to flourish.
The event was organised by the book club, entirely planned and executed by student volunteers from engineering and humanities: Riya, Rai, Parvez, Amritansh, Sanjana, Rahul, Hitashi, Monika and Shreya.
