DC Udhampur reviews functioning of GMC, Associated Hospital

UDHAMPUR, Feb 23: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting of line department officers in the Mini Conference Hall DC Office to assess the operations of the Government Medical College and Associated Hospital Complex, Udhampur.
Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh; Chief Planning Officer Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar; Principal GMC, CMO, Dr. Anil Manhas; Executive Engineers from various departments, and other officers attended the meeting.
Detailed deliberations were held on the progress of ongoing projects including the construction of the new medical college and its main campus, makeshift buildings, upgrading of teaching facilities at the District Hospital, as well as advancements in surgical procedures and laboratory tests at AH Udhampur.
The working of the newly opened addiction treatment center and the staff position at GMC and Associated Hospital, along with facilities like classrooms, labs, and library reading rooms were also reviewed.
The DC emphasized the importance of accelerating the physical progress of each project, urging executing agencies to utilize available resources effectively to meet deadlines. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining sanitation and hygiene standards to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
Furthermore, discussions touched the status of ongoing work at GMC and Associated Hospital, with a commitment from district administration and GMC authorities to collaborate closely to enhance medical infrastructure and human resources for improved patient care. The DC also get feedback on the functioning of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti and directed concerned authorities to conduct RKS meetings promptly.
