JAMMU, Feb 23: The NSS unit of Government College of Education (GCoE) Jammu today organised a donation drive at Muskan— a home for mentally challenged children at Channi Rama.
On the occasion, students and staff members donated clothes, toys, fruits, ration and refreshments to specially-abled children. Even a lunch was also organised for them.
Muskan is a home for mentally challenged children under Red Cross being operated by Bansi Lal Sharma and Pritam Das Sharma. It has 28 registered children who are being taken care of very well by the management.
The donation drive was conducted under the supervision of Prof Sarita Dogra, NSS PO and Dr Shubhra Jamwal. They were joined by Anu Bali, ex-Corporator of Ward No. 24, Sonia Kataria, Ankush and Ajay. They appreciated different kinds of social and other extracurricular activities of the inmates, who are actively participating in the music and singing activities and sports.
Earlier, the team was flagged off from college premises by Prof Satish Sharma, officiating Principal.
