425 housing flats to come up in Gandhi Nagar soon: Jora

JAMMU, Feb 16: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora today approved site for construction of a modern Group Housing Colony (residential flats) on 8 kanals of land available in Posh Gandhi Nagar area in the heart of Jammu city.
The Minister accompanied by the Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Satish Nehru and Vice-Chairman, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) today visited the site for proposed group housing colony and gave his nod to initiate measures for construction of the flats. There will be provision of about 425 modern housing flats for Higher Income Group and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of the society.
It will be another milestone in providing modern housing facilities to the people in urban Jammu, where availability of land has become extremely scarce, in view of heavy population influx since 1990, when in the backdrop of turmoil in some parts of the State, people from various areas converged towards Jammu city to construct their houses.
