Sena leader demands concession in power tariff

KISHTWAR, Feb 25: Tilak Shan Shiv Sena ( Shinde) president Chenab Valley has demanded concession for the people of erstwhile Doda district in power tariff.
In a statement issued here, today he said the erstwhile Doda district being the hub of power generation generating thousands of MWs of power so the people of the area be given a sort of relief in power tariff.
He said the power generated from this area will be supplied to other states of country but it is matter of great concern that the Government has not provided any concession to people of the area in power tariff. The NHPC and JKSPDC is earning crores of rupees from Dul Hasti Power Projects and Bagllhar Power Station but regretted that the resident of Chenab Valley have not been provided any kind of benefit by the NHPC and the JKSPDC.
Shan added running power projects namely Pakkal Dul, Keeru, Kwar and Rattle for which maximum land has been acquired. Burser,Karthai, Sawalkote Hydraulic power projects which have a generating capacity of more than 8000mw but the public of Chenab Valley has not been accommodated by giving a single unit of power free of cost.
Shan said in this regard he has already submitted memorandum to higher authorities regarding providing of 100 units of power free in Chenab Valley.
