GDC Marh, J&K Bank organize 2-day awareness programme on financial literacy

JAMMU, Feb 27: Recognising the importance of financial literacy in present day life, Government Degree College Marh, in collaboration with J&K Bank, organised a 2-day awareness cum interaction programme.
Principal of the college Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul was the chief guest. He welcomed the J&K Bank officials on the first day and delivered a keynote address on the significance of banking facilities for economic safety and security.
The guest of honour and resource person for the programme was Ramesh Bhat, Branch Manager J&K Bank, Marh who made the students and staff aware about different types of bank accounts and their features that are available across all banks in the country.
Earlier, the formal welcome address was delivered by Dr. Ruchika from the Department of English.
On the second day, the resource persons from the bank were Rahul Dev and Deepika who spoke about digital banking, how to use online transactions safely using Mpay delight plus app, UPI and QR code.
They also made the students aware about cyber crime related to banking and advised them not to share OTP to any unknown person. They stressed upon banking from home for the safety and saving the time in the life of a student as well as the general person.
The main focus of the interactive session was to spread awareness to the whole society through the youth of the country. Students were extremely happy by the enriching experience they had with the bank officials.
The programme was organised and Coordinated by the faculty members Dr. Ram Dayal, Dr. Sheetal Devi, Ravi Kumar, Dr. Ruchika Kumari, Dr. Tanu Sharma, Dr. Sheetal Verma, Anil Sharma.
On the day of conclusion i.e. 27th February 2024, the formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Ashu Jolly, Convenor Cultural Committee. On the day of conclusion refreshment has also been given to the students by the concerned bank.
