JAMMU, June 26 : Bhagat Maha Sabha Raipur Domana celebrated 614th Kabir jayanti, here today.
Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister urged upon the people to follow the footsteps of great saints like Kabirji to live a peaceful and prosperous life. He said that such spiritual teachings have greater relevance in present era when the world is engulfed in chaos and confusion. He asked the people to practically adopt these teachings to liberate themselves from the web of hatred and violence.
He said that teachings of revered saints have universal appeal and people should work together for the betterment of society by eradicating social ills prevailing in society. He said that teaching of saints can bond communities and societies.
Reiterating resolve of the Government to work for upliftment of marginalized sections of society, the Minister said that exemplary initiatives have been taken by the present dispensation to empower under the privileged sections of the societies, socially, politically and economically.
