Cataract surgery camp organized

POONCH, Feb 29: Rotary International Club (NGO) in collaboration with J&K UT Government Health Department organized two days cataract surgery camp in Sub District Hospital, Mandi in which 90 surgeries were conducted and free medicines were provided to patients.
Official sources said that the two days camp has already been organized in Mendhar, where 84 cataract surgeries were conducted. Two days camp is going on at SDH Mandi. Now the camps will be organized in SDH Surankote and District Hospital Poonch in coming days during which hundreds of free cataract surgeries shall be conducted in district Poonch.
Chairman Rotary International (NGO) DN Sharma and BMO Mandi Rayaz Jan said that two doctors from Maharastra, one from Jammu and local staff are conducting the surgeries. The people from far flung areas must come to take benefits of this camp which is free of cost.
The main aim to organize such camps are to provide free service by Rotary Club and administration to the people who are poor and residing in far flung areas, he added.
