BANIHAL, Mar 2: NC district president Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen today expressed concern over massive damage caused to the residential houses, school buildings and orchards in Banihal, Ramban and Gool due to windstorm, heavy rainfall and snowfall.
He said that Pogal-Paristan, Narad, Maligam, Neel, Mahu-Mangit, Banihal, Khari and other areas of Ramban were worst affected wherein dozens of residential houses were damaged.
“In Narad hamlet alone five houses belonging to members of the ST community were severely damaged by the destructive windstorm and heavy rainfall,” the NC leader maintained adding: “Fruit growers have been bearing the brunt of untimely snowfall and windstorm for the past several years.”
He appealed to the LG to direct the local administration to provide financial assistance to the effected people at an earliest.
