Safety of senior citizens

Sir,
In the past our youths always maintained  love and affection towards old people. They used to care wholeheartedly and remained obedient to the old people in their advanced age. Now the times have changed and old values stand nowhere in the present day situation. We come across so many instances where old people are being killed by their own offsprings to inherit and grab their property. The present day youths have become materialistic and go to any extent in order to meet their selfish ends. Recently a survey has been carried in the University of Delhi where 50 percent old people wanted to settle  the family disputes within the four walls of household and were not willing explore the options of the court keeping in mind the old family traditions. Although Govt has taken various steps to protect elderly of the society by coming up with a law. The law will safeguard the interest of the senior citizens by providing a sense of security among them. It is unimagineable to think of an elderly citizen whether male or female running from pillar to post, police station to court room and Govt offices to ensure  honourable living. Invariably he uses to surrender to the circumstances. The law has given him an intstrument which will prove as a detterant to the younger generation who ignore their parents. 90 percent senior citizens are of the opinion that they remain deprived of the benefit of the new law as per the survey report. 75 percent among oldies think that because of the westernisation of the society and degeneration in moral values have deteriorated the social fabric. The harassed senior citizens want establishment of a social millieu wherein the deviated youth is guideded to tread on right path for the care of the oldies.
Yours etc….
