PNB distributes KCC among beneficiaries

JAMMU, Feb 18: Punjab National Bank (PNB) today organized Kissan Credit Card disbursement function at Shamachak.
The function was inaugurated by RVS Jasrotia, Chief Manager Circle Office Jammu.
Around 25 KCC were distributed to the farmers involving a credit outlay of 35 lakhs including a poultry loan of Rs 4.5 lakh.
The function was organized in coordination with Agriculture Department in which farmers of villages Jungwari, Shamachak, Kanachak and Dubditta participated.
Speaking at the function, Jasrotia informed that KCC scheme is providing adequate and timely support to the farmers for their short-term credit needs. KCC also help farmers to buy quality seeds, enhance land use and increase agricultural production, he added.
He said that KCC happens to be cheapest credit available from banking system as the effective interest rate for a regular repaying borrower availing credit upto Rs 3 lakh comes down to as low as 4 per cent per annum.
Arun Jaral, JAEO from Department of Agriculture urged the farmers to avail the maximum benefits of the KCC scheme so that their economic conditions can improve.
Raj Kumar Sharma, Manager Shamachak, Rakesh Kumar Bhagat Manager Agriculture of the Bank, Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh and large number of beneficiaries and staff members of the Bank were present on the occasion.
