JAMMU, Mar 4: Aligning its vision with the National Education Policy 2020, which underscores the importance of incorporating research and internships into undergraduate education to offer students hands-on experiential learning opportunities, The Law School, University of Jammu, entered into collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Govt of J&K.
The collaboration stipulates one-month long internship opportunities for the students, with a focus on improving service delivery, the rule of law, and knowledge regarding various anti-graft legislation and bodies.
In this regard, an interactive session was organized in the Law School, wherein the Shakti Kumar Pathak, Director ACB, J&K, apprised the students and faculty members regarding the recent initiatives of ACB towards promoting good governance and rule of law in the region.
He maintained that public participation and diverse social partnerships are vital for the protection of basic human rights, and strengthening the accountability of public officials is an important contributor to human rights protection.
Earlier, Prof Manju Jamwal, Director, The Law School, presented a formal welcome address and said the internship opportunities to the law students is pivotal for galvanizing their analytical and critical abilities.
The session was coordinated by Dr Nitan Sharma and attended by around 40 students. On this occasion, SSP Sandeep Wazir, SSP G S Ghuman, Dr Monica Narang, Dr Monika Bhardwaj, Dr Rajneesh Khajuria, and Dr Vandita Sharma also enriched the interaction through their suggestions and expertise.
