LEH, Mar 4: Administrative Secretary, Information Technology Department, UT of Ladakh, Amit Sharma, today chaired a crucial meeting to deliberate on the implementation strategy for the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (2.0) Scheme.
The meeting was attended by multiple stakeholders from the EMC team, IT Department, and SIDCO officials.
A statement said that key discussions revolved around pivotal aspects of the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster 2.0 Scheme’s success.
The meeting primarily focused on selecting the implementing agency responsible for executing the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters and identifying suitable land with essential connectivity infrastructure.
Recognizing the vital role of road connectivity for the smooth operation of manufacturing clusters, collective insights and expert contributions paved the way for a comprehensive discourse aimed at tackling the multifaceted challenges inherent in establishing Electronics Manufacturing Clusters in Ladakh.
Secretary Amit Sharma stressed the need for a proficient and dedicated Agency, proposing a Special Purpose Vehicle led by SIDCO as the Project Implementation Agency.
He emphasized the importance of seamless coordination and efficient execution to realize the Scheme’s objectives.
Sharma highlighted the significance of initiatives like the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters Scheme 2.0 in stimulating local entrepreneurship, generating employment opportunities, and propelling the region towards sustainable development.
The meeting concluded with a strategic roadmap for implementing the Electronics Manufacturing Clusters Scheme, with a decision to convene the next meeting soon under the chairpersonship of the Advisor to LG.
Participants expressed confidence in their collective resolve and concerted efforts to overcome challenges and achieve the envisioned objectives.
The meeting saw the attendance of key figures such as Sonam Norbo and Tashi Namgyal from SIDCO, Kumar Amit and project managers from IT, while Dr Safdar Ali and Sanjeeta Hemraja from SIDCO attended virtually.
