RAJOURI, Mar 4: An Army jawan died of a bullet injury as his service weapon went off accidentally along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on Monday.
Official sources said that Lance Naik Balvir Singh, who was deployed near the Anti-Infiltration Obstacle System (AIOS), was hit by a bullet which went off from his own service rifle accidentally in Nowshera sector. The soldier died on the spot and his body was later shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities, sources said.
The legal formalities have been initiated in this regard, a police official said.
