Workshop to digitise Self Help Groups organised at PU

JAMMU, Mar 4: In order to digitise the network of Self Help Groups (SHGs) with help of LokOS app, a work shop organised by National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), was inaugurated at Patanjali University here today.
RLM successfully mobilised 10 crore rural households into 90.50 lakh SHGs and SHGs are further federated into 5 lakh Village Organisation (VO) and 32000 Cluster Level Federation (CLF).
After a couple of years of time investment, LokOS profile application national roll-out started on 1st April 2023 and successfully onboarded 1 crore+ member’s profile.
On the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna, Co-founder, Patanjali Group, was the Chief Guest, while CEO, USRLM, Manuj Goyal and Dy-CEO, NRLM, Pardeep Kumar Pandey were the guest of honours.
Speaking on the inaugural session, Nivedita Prasad, Deputy Secretary-Rural Livelihoods, MoRD, GoI discussed the LokOS transaction applications of the SHG-VO-CLF.
NRLM is planning to capture the financial summary data in the form of a cut-off sheet to start the regular transactions to smoothen the fund management at the SHG and federation levels.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna, Chief Guest, said that NRLM has been undertaking several efforts in supporting businesses run by rural SHG women that are engaged in producing food products, handicrafts and hand-loom etc.
He also emphasized the objective of this training program to promote Uttarakhand’s traditional art and bring livelihood enhancement and self-reliance in women’s lives.
The enthusiasm among the women participants was remarkable. Notably, in the program, women were trained in art, skill development through mediums such as stone, saree, kurta, wooden block, canvas, and wall painting
On the occasion, Dy-CEO, NRLM, Pradeep Kumar Pandey, also appreciated Patanjali’s efforts.
In the workshop officials from ten states including, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Punjab, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Andaman-Nicobar, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand participated.
