ASKPC expresses concern over encroachment of KPs’ lands

JAMMU, Feb 18: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) in its meeting held here today has expressed grave concern over the illegal encroachment of lands of displaced Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) and religious Hindu places in Kashmir Valley and demanded the Government to take stern action against the offenders.
The meeting said that some anti-social elements have grabbed about 34 kanals of land of Shamboo Nath Kaul and others at Ganderbal and some other has established a poultry farm in the premises of a popular religious place at Baramulla. But even after the instructions of the concerned DCs, the concerned Tehsildars failed to vacate the lands from the possession of land grabbers.
Similarly, the Sanatan Dharam School building in Baramulla occupied since long by one Atiqa Bano, could not be vacated even after approaching concerned authorities several times, the meeting alleged and appealed the Government to take stern action against the land grabbers and vacate their lands from their possession.
The meeting also demanded the Government to allot displaced KPs the residential flats being constructed by one Mr Wattali at Baramulla, for which, some KP families have already given their consent.
