SUCHETGARH, Mar 5: JKPCC general secretary, Taranjit Singh Tony has expressed concern over the insensitivity of BJP led government towards the genuine demands of farmers.
During a meeting at Suchetgarh today, Tony flayed government’s prioritization of interests of rich industrialists over the welfare of poor farmers.
He highlighted the stark contrast between government’s actions, where they readily waived off loans worth Rs. 10.80 lakh crore for the affluent industrialist neglecting the implementation of Minimum Support Price for the benefit of struggling farmers.
Tony emphasized that this discriminatory approach was indicative of government’s disregard for the well-being of agricultural community.
“This widening gap in the treatment of different sections of society showcases government’s misplaced priorities and lack of empathy,” he maintained urging the people of country to take a note of this and consider a chance to Rahul Gandhi and Congress in upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Tony claimed that Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is committed to address the issues of farmers.
