Veeri asks Govt to ensure proper arrangements on Maha Shivratri

JAMMU, Mar 6: Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former Minister, Abdul Rehman Veeri has urged the Government to ensure all arrangements for the migrants putting up in different parts of Jammu on the occasion of Maha Shivratri falling on March 8.
In a statement issued here, today Veeri said special arrangements for making availability of walnuts, flowers, milk, cheese, vegetables, fruits etc be made in all migrant camps at Jammu and non camp localities so that the people of community don’t face any problem in celebrating the festival. He said Shivratri (Hearth) being one of the sacred festivals of Kashmiri Pandits is celebrated for days together with traditional fervor and gaiety.
Veeri said special stalls be installed in the camps for sale of these items which should be made available on controlled rates also. He further appealed the Government to ensure the water supply and electricity on the day of Maha Shivratri and `Salam’ falling next day.
