JAMMU, Mar 6: Jammu and Kashmir Dairy Farmers’ Association (JKDFA) in collaboration with Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu is going to organize Pashu Dhan Mela on March 9 and 10 at Veterinary College, RS Pura.
This was stated today by Sandeep Singh Chib (JKDFA president) while addressing a press conference along with other office bearers of the Association. He said visitors of the Mela will be apprised of the latest genetic breeds of milk yielding animals, preservation and processing of milk and its products, scientific approach for management of dairy farms, cattle, feed and fodder, etc.
“This Mela will provide an opportunity to promote the latest schemes of the Government of India and Jammu & Kashmir for promotion of Dairy Farming Sector in this area,” Chib said, adding, good quality of milk yielding animals will be displayed in the Mela. Besides, there will have Milking Competition to ensure optimum output, Breed Competition and awareness on maintenance of animals’ health.
Chib said there will also have talks regarding policies of the Government for promotion of Dairy Farming Sector in J&K by experts, display of Feed Fodder, Medicine, Animal accessories, dairy equipments, silage, etc through installation of stalls. The experts will also apprise the visitors of the Mela on animal waste management.
“The Pashu Dhan Mela will provide an insight regarding high genetic breed animals, maximum yield of milk and marketing of milk and its products, best quality of feed & fodder and medicines, etc which in turn will be great help to dairy farmers and will boost milk production in the area to a record level,” JKDFA president revealed.
