Mahila Cong president asks cadre to gear up for LS polls

JAMMU, Mar 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Mahila Congress president Shameema Raina has asked the women cadre of the party to gear up their activities in view of the coming elections.
While addressing party workers’ meeting in Jammu North, Shameema Raina said that all the women issues will be taken care of if the Congress party comes to power. She asked Mahila Congress to continue to project public issues before the concerned authorities/UT administration. She said the ongoing Nari Nyay campaign will bring improvement in women’s economic condition, social standing, education, healthcare, political representation and violence against women.
Stating that the condition of women has deteriorated under BJP rule, Shameema maintained that women sufferings increased under BJP. The price hike has affected women substantially and they do not have access to nutritional food.
Shameema said that Mahila Congress activists are constantly reaching out to the women to hear their issues and views moreover, various suggestions have been received from the women for their empowerment and welfare, she added.
Party vice president Hari Singh Chib while speaking on the occasion asked the party workers to expose the anti-people, anti-youth and anti-employee policies of BJP government. The meeting was organized by Rajni Bala, ex-Corporator JMC and vice president J&K Mahila Congress.
AICC Member and National secretary, Uday Bhanu, senior leaders Sushma Choudhary, Parveen Akhtar besides others were also present on the occasion.
