UDHAMPUR, Mar 8: An elderly man died after being run down by a minibus at minibus stand Sailan Talab Udhampur while three persons were injured in a separate road accident on the Udhampur National Highway.
According to the police report, a 70- year old man was run down by a minibus, which was being reversed by the driver at minibus Stand Salaian Talab Udhampur.
Locals rushed the injured person to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Hardeep Singh (70), son of Chatar Singh, resident of Dandyal, near CEO Office Udhampur. A case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
Meanwhile, in another road accident at late last night, an unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle near Shiv Shakti Resort Udhampur on the National Highway, resulting into injuries to the motorcyclist and two pillion riders.
The injured persons were identified as Rakesh Kumar (45), son of Jia Lal of Thanda Paddar, Industrial Estate Udhampur, Ranjeet Kumar (28) son of Bhagwan Singh of near Nayal Bowli Sayal Sallan Udhampur and Rahul (22) son of Ram Dass of Nayal Bowli Sayal,
The trio was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur where Rakesh Kumar was referred to Command Hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment. Police have registered a case in this connection.
