Identify and segregate elements attempting to harm peace: DGP to trainees

PULWAMA, Mar 9: The Director General of Police (DGP), RR Swain, today stated that disruptive elements aiming to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir need to be identified and segregated.
He was addressing trainees at the Commando Training Centre (CTC) in Lethpora, Pulwama District.
Highlighting the need for concerted efforts to counter such elements, Swain underscored the necessity of taking strong measures against them for the greater good of the public.
He reiterated the police force’s commitment to serving the people and protecting them from those opposed to peace.
During his visit to the CTC Lethpora, Swain inspected the firing range and other training facilities, where trainees showcased impressive anti-terror operations. He commended their dedication and hard work during the intensive training period, emphasizing the valuable skills they had acquired.
Swain also lauded the efforts of the instructors in imparting essential skills to the trainees, acknowledging their crucial role in the training process.
Addressing the welfare of the police personnel and Special Police Officers (SPOs), he assured them that their well-being is a top priority.
Swain emphasized the need for SPOs to be informed about the 15 percent reservation provision in the forthcoming recruitment of constables, demonstrating the force’s commitment to their welfare and promising additional measures in the future.
As a gesture of recognition, Swain also presented cash rewards to four trainees for their exceptional performance.
Earlier, Principal CTC Lethpora, Tanveer Jeelani, provided an overview of the specialized training activities conducted, while other dignitaries including DIG South Kashmir Altaf Ahmad Khan, Commandant IR-23rd Battalion Bakar Hussain Samoon, AIG (Training) PHQ Manoj Kumar Pandith, and SSP Awantipora Aijaz Ahmad Zargar were also present during the event.
