KATHUA, Mar 9 : On the eve of International Women’s Day, a Special Cell for Women was inaugurated by SSP Kathua, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal accompanied by Additional SP Kathua, Senior PO DPO Kathua, DySP Hqrs Kathua, SHO Women PS Kathua etc in the premises of the Women Police Station, Kathua.
This Special Cell for Women of Kathua district is supported by the National Commission for Women (GOI). Two social workers namely Ruby Bagal and Mamta Rani were appointed to the Cell whose main work will be to provide legal aid, counselling and necessary support for victims of domestic violence and harassment.
In addition, SSP Kathua also heard the problems of female officers/officials and re-addressed the grievances on the spot. He also launched the “Special Women Helpline Number for Emergency Help” for the Women of Kathua district.
