JAMMU, Mar 9: Daily Wagers of PHE and other departments here today staged a protest demonstration and demanded regularisation of their services.
Talking to reporters the protesting daily wagers said that for the last 575 days they were on protest but none has come to know their grievances.
“We met officers and political leaders and all gave us assurances,” they said adding that even PM Modi during his two visits to J&K not even spoke a single word for the daily wagers.
“Over 300 daily wagers have died so far awaiting their regularisation and many others are on verge of retirement,” they maintained.
The protesters also said that PM Modi in a rally in 2014 has assured to regularise all the daily wagers but he was misguided by the elected representatives highlighting achievements like AIIMS etc.
They also said that Minimum Wages Act has also not been applied for their wages and urged upon the Chief Secretary of J&K to intervene.
