JAMMU, Mar 10: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla has voiced strong opposition against the BJP, asserting that the nation cannot afford to let the party retain power in the 2024 elections.
Addressing the public at Raipur Satwari, Bhalla accused the BJP-led Government of imposing a monolithic and illiberal socio-political order on the people, backed by vested agendas.
He criticized the Government’s policies, labeling them as “disastrous” and an “attack on the Constitution”.
Bhalla highlighted the atmosphere of unrest created by the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, where questioning Government policies, according to him, is met with accusations of being anti-national.
He pointed out the BJP’s failure to fulfill promises and its anti-poor and anti-youth policies.
The Congress leader emphasized the importance of fighting together to defeat the BJP and safeguard constitutional values, democracy, and federalism.
He warned against the BJP’s “limited vision,” predicting that its return to power could lead the country towards dictatorship and deprive people of their democratic rights.
Bhalla reminded PM Modi of the contributions of former Prime Ministers like Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi, accusing the current Government of complete failures on all policy fronts.
Bhalla criticized attempts to mix politics and religion, urging BJP leaders not to play one community against another for votes.
The JKPCC Working President called for a united effort to uproot the BJP and restore the principles of democracy and secularism.
He urged voters to consider the Congress’ track record of development and social progress while evaluating their choices in the upcoming elections.
