KISHTWAR, Mar 10: Devastating fire gutted a cattle shed at a village in mountainous Kishtwar district late last night and many animals were burnt alive.
Sources informed that fire broke out in the cattle shed of one Som Nath, son of Thakur Dass, resident of Vasdevna Tagood falling under Chatroo Police Station. They said that several cattle were burnt alive in the blaze which started all of a sudden at the cattle shed.
“By the time locals could react and rescue the cattle, whole shed was engulfed by flames and 30 sheep and goat, one horse, eight cows, one ox, one calf and one pony were charred badly besides heavy damage to the structure,” they maintained adding that the fire started at about 12:30 am.
After getting information about the incident Police rushed to the spot.
A case has been registered by police in this regard and investigation started to ascertain the exact reasons behind the fire incident.
