NMC urges J&K Govt to release pending installments of DA

JAMMU, Mar 10: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri today appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo to release the pending installment of four per cent DA due from January this year in favour of J&K Government employees and pensioners as the same has been released by the Central Government to its employees and pensioners.
Talking to media persons, here today, he said that decision to release the DA should be taken well before the enforcement of model code of conduct for upcoming Lok Sabha election 2024.
“The Government should release this at the earliest so that the employees and pensioners would heave a sigh of relief from the rising prices of essential commodities,” he maintained adding that DA should be exempted from the ambit of Income Tax as it is linked with price index.
Shastri urged upon PM Modi to appoint Chairman and other members of the 8th Pay Commission and start discussion with representatives of both Central and State Government employees and pensioners as appointment of 8th Pay Commission will end confusion and uncertainty on this issue once for all.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Raman Sharma, ex Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, and others were also present on the occasion.
