DODA, Mar 11: Thathri Development Front (TDF) has appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh and also DC Doda, to look deep into the left over work on the road projects of the area and issue directions to the concerned to take immediate necessary steps to complete these projects, on priority bases.
The members of the Front said that with the completion of these projects, population of about 5 tehsils— Kahara, Thathri, Phaqsoo, Bhella and Chirrala, will be benefitted and their age-old hardships will come to end. Besides, the area will also come on tourism maps, again benefiting the whole population of all these tehsils.
They further said that for achieving full advantage of the tourism development schemes in erstwhile Doda district and for ensuring greater opportunities of employment, the left-over work on some roads needs to be completed on priority. They said that Kahara -Jai road project, which is complete up to Joura Kalan (85% of the total length), needs to be completed from Joura to Jai (9 km length).
“The 19 km sanctioned Thathri- Chirra road project is complete from its initial point Jangalwar Nallah to Chirra (length 14 km) and the remaining 5 km from Chirra to Gallu Top should be constructed immediately. Further, if Gallu Top is linked to Joura (2 km only) on Kahara-Jai road, 90% link between tourist places will be achieved and if Joura Khurd (road already complete) is linked to Chirala- Panshaee road by only a 5 km stretch, the circuit of roads will be complete,” they said, adding, it will greatly boost tourism and also provide employment to thousands of unemployed people.
