KATRA, Mar 11: Five Days Skill Development Programme on Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning began today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra.
Funded by Higher Education Department, Government of J&K and being organized by the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the programme aims to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving fields of AI and Machine Learning.
The event has garnered participation from institutes across J&K, including Central University Jammu, Kashmir University, UIET Kathua, and SKUAST Jammu.
Prof Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU was the chief guest in the inaugural function. He focused on the key terms like startups and entrepreneurship, imbibing the skills like lifelong learnings, keeping the participants spellbound by his inspirational and motivating words.
Prof K R Jha, Dean Faculty of Engineering, SMVDU, is the Coordinator of the program, along with Dr Manoj Kumar Gupta and Dr Pooja Sharma as Co- Coordinators.
Distinguished guests for the inaugural event included Dr Shitala Prasad from IIT Goa, Dr Karan Singh from JNU Delhi, who will share their expertise and insights with the participants. Renowned faculty members from reputed institutes like IITs, NITs, CSIR, and JNU and Industry experts will also deliver lectures during the five-day program to help in bridging the gap between Industry and academics in today’s era.
The formal vote of thanks was given by Dr Pooja Sharma. Students organizing the event include Payel Maken, Komal Bhardwaj, Subhag Sharma, Tushar Taggar, Rajat ,Hridyanshu, Achyut and Rudraksh.
