JAMMU, Mar 11: S Varinderjeet Singh, Chairman, National Sikh Front (NSF) Jammu and Kashmir, has passionately advocated for the liberation of Sikh political prisoners.
Addressing media persons here today, Singh urged for the release of long-incarcerated prisoners who have completed their sentences.
He appealed to Central and State Governments to intervene compassionately and expedite their freedom, rectifying the injustices faced by Sikhs.
Singh also appealed the Ministry of External Affairs to engage with Pakistan in safeguarding Sikh families following the tragic killing of Sardar Satnam Singh in Peshawar.
Emphasizing collaboration between nations to identify and prosecute perpetrators, Singh underscored the urgent need for security and justice for Sikhs in Pakistan.
Additionally, Singh vehemently condemned the decision by the AAP Government in Punjab to demote Punjabi as a medium language for competitive exams.
Citing its cultural and religious significance, Singh demanded an immediate reversal, asserting it as an affront to Sikh identity.
Varinderjeet Singh reiterated his steadfast commitment to amplifying Sikh voices and addressing their concerns.
He welcomed Pakistan’s decision to appoint Sikh leader Ramesh Singh Arora as a Minister, hailing it as a positive step.
The press conference also saw the presence of prominent Sikh leaders including Kulwant Singh Bhatti, Gurdyal Singh Bali, Gurtej Singh Prince, Gurcharan Singh Sudan and others.
