JAMMU, Mar 13: Tribute were paid to the Florence Nightingale- “The Lady with Lamp” by the students of Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing.
In this regard the Lamp lighting and Oath ceremony were organised by B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students in the college premises.
Florence Nightingale is a founder of Modern Nursing during world war – II. It is an auspicious ceremony where the nursing under graduates take their oath after receiving their apron and lamp.
The program was started with welcoming Chief Guest Dr. Sandeep Singh, Registrar, JK Para Medical and Nursing Council and Guest of Honour Professor Sumaya Sidiqui, Principal of Govt. Nursing College Gangyal, Jammu by M.S Katoch, (Chairman RGCN), Abhimanyu Katoch, (Managing Director), Anjana Bavouria, (Director RGCN) and Rafiqa Bashir (Principal RGCN) along with faculty members.
Dr. Sandeep Singh, Chief Guest of event, appreciated the functioning of RGCN and the contribution of RGCN for the growth of health care sector by providing highly qualified health care professionals at national level and also shares their experience regarding medical profession.
Dr. Sumaya Sidiqui encouraged new students to love their profession and enlighten the future path of nursing.
M.S. Katoch, Chairman of RGCN, shared their views related to the importance of Nursing Profession and assures new students for qualitative learning provided by RGCN Institution.
Principal Rafiqa Bashir highlighted the achievement of college in academics and nursing field also appreciated the efforts of Lecturer of College Masrat, Pallvi and Diksha with all the faculty members to make this event successfully done.
At the end the occasion was wrapped up with an energetic Punjabi Dance and by distributing mementos to Guest of the Day.
