RAJOURI, Mar 13: In Fatehpur Guriya area of Rajouri city on Wednesday morning, a Kucha house and cattle-shed were burnt to ashes.
According to information, the incident took place when the owner- Mohammed Farooq locked his house and left for the house of his deceased brother. Apparently due to electrical short circuit, his house caught fire and by the time the people could control the fire, the muddy house made of wood was completely destroyed and reduced to ashes.
The terrible fire also engulfed the adjacent cattle shed. Hearing the news of fire in the house, Mohd Farooq also reached his home. The Fire tenders from Rajouri also left for the site.
Station Incharge of Fire Brigade Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain said that the fire vehicles could not reach the spot because due to dilapidated condition of the link road, the fire vehicles had to stop on the way, but the fire brigade personnel reached the spot on foot.
With the help of local people they started extinguishing the fire but by the time the fire was brought under control, most of the goods kept in the house and the cattle shed had burnt to ashes.
